“I’m a freak with a camera”
Ava Chacon (b. 2002) is currently pursuing her BFA in Photography with a minor in English Writing at Montana State University. Originally from Los Angeles, California, her family left for a quieter, less expensive life (at the time) in Bozeman, Montana. Chacon picked up a camera at sixteen to document her experience working in Naknek, Alaska, processing fish. Now at Montana State, she works with analog and alternative photographic mediums, as well as a mix of researched and media writing. With her work, Chacon documents human relationships, including her own, and the changing fabricated environment.
Ava Chacon’s past work has been featured in the Visual Communications building at Montana State, and more recently in The Bozeman Chronicle.
